Band

The Mindsight is a Canadian Hard Rock/Alternative/Metal band based out of Toronto, Ontario that was formed by lead singer/guitarist Leonard Farmer III, main vocalist Shane Bales, and drummer Ryan Chalmers.  Although the first iterations of The Mindsight date back as far as 2002, they formed more officially in 2005 under the name of Alterspective, when bassist Dustin Anstey and guitarist Adam Hillier joined the band.  Their debut performance was at Rock the Wake Festival in Haliburton, Ontario on June 10th, 2005; a show that saw great success and the band’s unofficial first release – a self-titled 4 song EP.

In spite of these minor setbacks, The Mindsight are now back in full force.  In spring of 2011, the group took on a new member, guitarist Sebastian Biega and have since begun playing the extended Toronto circuit in support of Incarnate.  In just several short months, with only a handful of shows since the change, The Mindsight have shown a much improved stage dynamic, with a renewed sense of energy and confidence.  Bolstered with an entirely revamped live sound rig, the band eagerly awaits it’s chance to break through to the world and pursue further aspirations.

Since then, The Mindsight have gone on to release a full length album entitled Gathering Mindsight (2007), as well as undergone some personnel changes.  In 2007, guitarist Adam Hillier left the band for personal reasons, consequently, guitarist Steve Wessel was hired in his stead. Steve played with the band through the bulk of their regional touring as well as aided in the writing/recording process of the group’s latest effort, The Mindsight Incarnate (2011). However, he too resigned prior to it’s official release, in early 2010, for reasons unbeknownst to the band.

The Mindsight have written, composed, performed, produced, engineered and mixed all of their music to date.
